The law firm of Schall & Barasch, L.L.C.
was founded on March 1, 2000. Unlike many firms that
practice law in a variety of areas, this firm practices
law in only one area - the representation of employees
who have been unfairly treated or victimized by discrimination
at work, or who have been subjected to oppressive non-compete
agreements.
The attorneys at Schall & Barasch believe that
because the field of employment law is so complex, so
intricate, and so fraught with landmines and pitfalls
for the unwary, lawyers cannot provide the proper level
of representation deserved by clients in employment
cases unless the lawyers devote themselves entirely
to this area of law. In setting up this firm, Attorneys
Richard Schall & Patricia Barasch have been guided
by that principle.
As the partners in Schall & Barasch, Richard
Schall and Patricia Barasch
have more than 30 years of experience between them in
the practice of employment law on behalf of individuals.
Because of their education, experience, and dedication
to their work, the attorneys at Schall & Barasch
believe that, despite the firm's small size, they can
provide their clients with a level of representation
equal to, or better than, that which they would receive
from the largest, wealthiest, law firms in the State.
Having focused its practice since its founding seven
years ago exclusively on the representation of employees
and the expansion of employee rights, Schall & Barasch
has become one of the preeminent plaintiffs' employment
law firms in the State of New Jersey.
Additionally, the partners of the firm have been recognized
for their contributions to the employment law field.
New Jersey Monthly Magazine has recognized both Richard
Schall & Patricia Barasch in 2005, 2006, and 2007
as "Super Lawyers". In addition, Ms. Barasch
was elected in 2006 as vice-president of the National
Employment Lawyers Association, a 3000-member association
of attorneys devoted to advocating for employee rights
and workplace fairness. NELA is the country's only professional
organization that is exclusively comprised of lawyers
who represent individual employees in cases involving
employment discrimination, wrongful termination, employee
benefits, and other employment related matters. In September,
2006, South Jersey Magazine chose Ms. Barasch as one
of the region's top ten women business leaders. According
to the magazine and the women's organizations who nominated
her, Patricia "...personifies diligence, success,
diversity of talent and philanthropic spirit that characterizes
an outstanding business leader."
Richard Schall, who served for four years (2000-2004)
as President of the New Jersey affiliate of the National
Employment Lawyers Association, graduated from the Trial
Lawyers' College, an intensive three-week training program
for trial lawyers conducted by the renowned trial lawyer,
Gerry Spence, on his ranch in Wyoming. He was one of
only 50 lawyers from around the county selected for
the 2003 college. Schall has served in 2006, and will
serve in 2007, as co-chair for the Association of Trial
Lawyers of America/New Jersey's educational seminar
on employment law.
Schall & Barasch, LLC is committed to the principle
that employees, who do not have the resources of large
companies, are nonetheless deserving of the highest
quality of representation.
Schall & Barasch continues to represent its clients
against some of the most powerful corporations in the
state, represented by the largest law firms.
The firm will consider investing its time and efforts
in only those cases where it sincerely believes it can
accomplish justice for its client. While Schall &
Barasch cannot guarantee a favorable result when it
agrees to take a case, it can guarantee that it would
not have taken the case unless it felt it had a substantial
chance of success.
Finally, Schall & Barasch, L.L.C. is committed
to building an atmosphere of trust, cooperation, and
teamwork among all who work here, regardless of formal
job title. The partners and employees of the firm have
chosen to work at this firm because of their commitment
to the cause of employee rights and their commitment
to each other. If you have any questions or comments,
please feel free to contact
anyone at the firm, or fill out our online questionnaire.
