Richard Schall Elected President of New Jersey Employment Lawyers Association (NELA/NJ)

On September 20, 2000, Richard M. Schall was elected President of the New Jersey Chapter of the National Employment Lawyers Association (NELA/NJ) for the coming two-year term. NELA/NJ is the preeminent association of plaintiffs' employment lawyers in New Jersey, with more than 100 members throughout the State. The organization is dedicated to advancing the rights of employees to be free from employment discrimination and unjust treatment in the workplace.

NELA/NJ and its members have played an important role in litigating many of the key New Jersey Supreme Court cases in recent years protecting or enhancing employee rights, and it acts as the voice of the plaintiffs' employment bar in this State.

Mr. Schall has been an active member of NELA/NJ since 1992. He has served on the Executive Board for the past four years and also acted as chairperson for the Programs Committee. He is the author of numerous articles on employment law and has spoken throughout the State and the country on that subject with a particular focus on the rights of employees with disabilities.

Mr. Schall is a member of the New Jersey and Pennsylvania bars, the United States District Court, District of New Jersey, the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. He graduated from New York University School of Law in 1987 and is a 1971 graduate of Swarthmore College. Mr. Schall is a partner in the law firm Schall & Barasch, LLC located in Moorestown, New Jersey.

Mr. Schall and his partner, Patricia Barasch of Mt. Laurel, NJ, focus their practice on the representation of employees who have been unfairly treated or victimized by discrimination at work. Mr. Schall resides in Moorestown with his Marie.
